French luxury fashion brand, Balmain has launched limited-edition NFT sneakers. These sneakers are phygital NFTs, and they are made through a collaboration with Space Runners.

This collection is dubbed the Unicorn Phygital Wearable Collection, and it unites sneakers with digital assets. It comprises 130 Unicorn sneakers with a digital twin (an NFT sneaker that is exactly the same). The collection is inspired by the ethereal and magical qualities of the mythical unicorn. By reflecting the timeless beauty and power of unicorns, they blur the lines between our identities.

The unicorn concept is Balmain’s creative director Oliver Rousteing’s idea. He has always been fascinated with giving fans euphoric out-of-this-world experiences. To him, Earth is not always enough; you need to access the future, the moon, and other planets, and the only way you can truly do that is with a unicorn.

Balmain and Space Runners created NFT sneakers.

Although the sneakers give a “metaverse-ready” feel, they aren’t compatible with most of the top metaverse platforms

When they’re launched at the end of the year, they will be used in Space Runners’ exclusive metaverse.

The Balmain x Space Runners Unicorn Phygital Collection sells for between $1,595 to $2,905 (including gas fees), and you can purchase them by using ETH or a credit/debit card.

There are a number of incentives awaiting holders of these Balmain NFTs. These include limited-edition products, early access to upcoming drops, and digital wearables for metaverses.
