LunarCrush has disclosed that it will send a private key to a wallet holding 62 BTCs to the moon! The driving force behind this idea is to “inspire people to establish networks that will unlock a new era of exploration” as stated by the CEO of LunarCrush, Joe Vezzani.
A SpaceX rocket will launch the private key to the moon by fall. LunarCrush will keep the wallet safe and secure. Currently, the wallet is worth approximately $1.7 million, which can increase anytime because it is a public wallet.
The 1.7 million-dollar bounty has been dubbed “Nakamoto 1”. The first person to hold the private key inscribed on the Lunar Outpost MAPP Rover will win the bounty!
This bounty will bring crypto enthusiasts and treasure hunters together to search for the 62-Bitcoin treasure. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket transporting the rover and the private key will be launched to the moon by June. The MAPP rover will be positioned near the south pole to test Nokia’s wireless connection for two weeks.
Joe Vezzani stated about the bounty:
“It’s like Willy Wonka’s ‘golden ticket’ for the Web3 era, and we couldn’t be more excited to see how it all unfolds.”
Lunar Outpost’s Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Forrest Meyen, commented that LunarCrush’s stunt might lead to discovering previously uncharted lands beyond human reasoning.
