The world’s largest martial arts brand ONE Championship and Notre Game, a division of Animoca Brands, are teaming up. Notre Game, which is best known for Scratch Wars, was acquired by Animoca Brands in 2022. Now, they’re to build a fighting game with ONE Championship by using NFTs. The NFT-based game is slated for release in the first quarter of 2024.
With this project, ONE Fight Arena will place more emphasis on strategic game play rather than just action – a sharp contrast to traditional sports games. This NFT-based game promises 3D graphics and realistic voice overs. Plus, an opportunity to develop choice athletes from the start of their career.
Players will get the exhilarating martial arts experience through a first person point of view. The game will be accessible on Google Play and the Apple Store. It will be free to play with an optional Web3 connectivity and NFTs for actual digital ownership of specific game assets.
Explaining the reason for Web3 integration, Yat Siu, the chairman of Animoca Brands, shared that their partnership will provide gamers the opportunity of true digital ownership at its core.
Jiri Mikolas, the CEO of Notre Game, expressed excitement at the development and how the core values of Notre Game aligns with the collaboration. Also, he said that they were super pumped to bring this dream to life and push the limits of mobile gaming.

The Relationship Between Sports and Web3 Gaming
Web3 has made gaming and esports more engaging, immersive, and profitable. Teams, leagues, and championships can monetize NFTs, tokens, and blockchain-powered games.
Apart from ONE Championship, the esports giant TSM is one brand taking advantage of Web3 for growth and greater fandom. In March, it partnered with Avalanche to create a dedicated “Blitz Subnet” for its competitive gaming platform Blitz.
These collaborative efforts are deepening experiences (for gaming and esports fans) and creating newer ways to monetize fandom. Thus, making NFTs more attractive and increasing mainstream adoption of Web3 gaming.
