Animoca Brands launched the long-awaited Formula E: High Voltage today! That is a Web3-based racing game.

The gaming giant and Amber developed the racing management game that uses energy-efficient Flow blockchain. This blockchain grants fans and players digital ownership over all their in-game items, manifesting as NFTs.

Every player of Formula E: High Voltage will receive four NFTs, comprising two cars and two drivers. These NFTs enable players to participate for free and take charge of their personal racing team and electric racing cars. The cars and drivers possess more than 100 distinct skills, essential for establishing a dominant racing empire in the digital realm.

Additionally, the game incorporates elements from the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The game features city center tracks in Rome, Berlin, New York, and London.

Players must effectively manage races by selecting the best cars, drivers, and special abilities. These choices are pivotal in achieving top performance, especially considering the changing weather conditions and day/night cycles.

Race enthusiasts can identify the GEN3 car as a leading example of electric race car technology featured in the game. Furthermore, players can choose from a diverse array of fantasy and officially licensed cars and drivers. The game includes the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Champion, Jake Dennis, and his Andretti Porsche 99X Electric GEN3.

The game’s official website has begun releasing 8,500 Solo NFT Crates priced from $20 to $30. There are also 9,000 Team NFT Crates for sale for $119 to $149. The Solo NFT Crate will grant access to one NFT of an official or fantasy car or driver.

On the other hand, the Team NFT Crate will contain two NFTs of either official or fantasy Formula E cars and two NFTs of official or fantasy Formula E drivers.

Notably, one NFT of an official car or driver of epic or legendary rarity is guaranteed. Interested buyers are required to have a Blocto wallet linked to the Flow blockchain. They can make their purchases by using the REVV token.

Animoca Brands emphasized that minting an NFT on Flow consumes less energy than a single post on Instagram or even a Google search. This sustainability commitment aligns with Formula E’s initial objective: To counteract climate change by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. Formula E has garnered praise for maintaining a net zero carbon footprint since its establishment.
