The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled an NFT collection – the ‘Amazing Thailand NFTs’ to amplify tourists’ experience and increase exploration. The digital art collection can be accessed via the YAKS application at 5 landmarks and affords the privileges to travel and explore until 14 December 2022.

The Amazing Thailand NFT Project

Currently, there are 3,999 Amazing Thailand NFT items at each tourist location. They were created with key messages in mind: ‘Travel to Earn, Earn your experiences’. Thanks to the TAT’s initiative, the Amazing Thailand NFT experience has been designed to unite the real world with the blockchain world, therefore, integrating digital art into the tourist destination.

How to participate in the Amazing Thailand NFT Project

To participate in the Amazing Thailand NFTs project, tourists will download the YAKS application via Android and iOS devices. Then, at 5 major tourist attractions – Wat Arun, Chinatown, Giant Swing, Siam Square in Bangkok, and the Ancient City in Samut Prakan – they will scan the QR code at the kiosks available to get an Amazing Thailand NFT item.

In a comment, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said:

“This Amazing Thailand NFTs brings our NFT products – Nature to keep, Food to explore, and Thainess to discover – into actual trips and offers new experiences in line with the ‘Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign. The initiative is also part of the drive to create a ‘new tourism ecosystem’ towards a more sustainable industry.”

How the Amazing Thailand NFT Project Works

Tourists can get one Amazing Thailand NFT item per location, each with different offers. Since there are only 3,999 NFTs available, tourists can only get them on a first-come, first served basis – so, there is a race to reach each tourist destination and collect an NFT. After collecting at least 3 items from touring 3 different locations, they can unlock privileges for airfare, hotel, food, and beverage discounts plus other exciting travel offers. In addition, tourists are warmly welcomed with an Amazing Thailand NFT item upon arrival at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.
