The collaboration will be with Grease Monkey Games’ Torque Drift 2 Motorsport title which will be one of the first worldwide digital experiences. Along with Nissan, Torque Drift 2 has also officially licensed NISMO, Infiniti, and Datsun so that players will also be able to have their NFTs available.
According to Grease Monkey Games’ announcement, NFTs of up to 15 unique Nissan models with multiple variants will be made available in Torque Drift 2. The first official Nissan NFTs will be 5 variants of the 180SX model including the legendary Sil80 and 7 variants of the famous 370Z model including the 50th Anniversary edition.
Torque Drift 2 aims to deliver the most immersive and realistic drifting experience while being built on the Polygon Blockchain. Polygon Studios’ head of global games business development Urvit Goel, said:
“Nissan’s entry to the web3 space with Torque Drift 2 represents one of the most exciting and significant implementations of blockchain and NFT technology by a major global brand to date. This collaborative effort between Grease Monkey Games, Animoca Brands, and Nissan will go down as a landmark moment in the NFT and gaming space, and we at Polygon are delighted to provide the infrastructure and tools to make it happen.”
Happy news for players: The partnership is not only about licensing, Grease Monkey Games is also working closely with Nissan Motor Company to ensure vehicle and vehicle part NFTs are represented as real as in their real-life form.
Thanks to this partnership, the game studio has full access to all Nissan, Datsun, and Infiniti range of vehicle models of all times.
