The future of gaming is now, and nWay is leading the charge into uncharted territories. The game developer, which is a part of Animoca Brands, is teaming up with Yuga Labs to create a Web3-powered multiplayer fighting game called Wreck League. They announced this on Animoca Brands’ website as well as on their Twitter handles.

Four Yuga Labs’ Collections Are Making an Appearance

The game, slated for a September release, will feature four Yuga Labs’ collections. These include Bored Ape Yacht Club, Bored Ape Kennel Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and Otherside Kodas. By collecting Mech Parts as NFTs, players can assemble exclusive Mech character NFTs.

Rare Yugaverse Mechs will amplify gameplay, adding a distinctive touch to in-game achievements. The vibrant player community comprises creators, owners, and skilled players who can unite as teams for league events. 

This game is poised to redefine esports. It grants players the ability to construct and engage in combat with Mechs of their own creation. 

Wreck League

Wreck League: Worth Every Hype

Gamers from different backgrounds should get ready to pilot their Mechs to victory because Wreck League embraces both Web2 and Web3 technologies. Players who prefer a more traditional approach have the option of a free-to-play (F2P) version. NFT ownership is not a necessity. The marketing strategy is on attracting a broad audience, utilizing successful user acquisition tactics from nWay’s previous games.

Mech NFT owners can create non-NFT copies of their Mechs to sell in the Web2 game store. The Web3 version, designed for Mech NFT holders, features a two-week leaderboard tournament where players battle for points and prizes. Wreck League offers players the ability to generate their own unique Mech fighters, resulting in over 1.5 quadrillion possible combinations.

Taehoon Kim, nWay’s CEO, highlighted that Wreck League aims to unite gaming communities. He also emphasized the importance of leveraging the Web3 community’s creativity to keep improving the game. He credited nWay’s expertise in competitive fighting games as the reason why a symbiotic relationship between Web3 and Web2 gamer communities is plausible.

A Custom Event

Yat Siu, the co-founder of Animoca Brands, is considering creating a personal prize pool of NFTs for a special Wreck League ApeCoin. The competition will be against him and/or a team he handpicks. He also mentioned that if there was enough interest, he would prepare a special personal custom event around the game.

In a later Twitter post, Harry Liu, made an announcement concerning the custom event. He revealed that Yat Siu had initiated a Wreck League competition with incredible prizes. The tweet mentioned that education platform TasteMakerz would reward $500 in ApeCoin to the winner.
