An NFT and Web3 gaming initiative will be launched soon as a part of Amazon’s development of a digital asset organization. According to the reports of 26 January, the company will join the Web3 gaming world. It will release an official statement in April since the project is in its early stages of development.

Amazon joins the Web3 gaming world

Amazon will encourage users to play cryptocurrency games in return for free NFTs while promoting its digital collectibles. The company has recently spent a lot of time developing blockchain-based gaming and other related NFT apps that will be released later this year.

The new project will be launched on “Amazon Proper” according to a source, which states that Amazon Web Services (AWS) has just placed job advertisements for Web3 developers. More than a dozen project partners, including layer-1 blockchains, blockchain-based gaming companies and developers, and digital asset exchanges, have been queued up by the renowned giant in e-commerce.

Amazon’s involvement in Web3 demonstrates that they are optimistic about its future. The firms operating in the sector at the moment will benefit from increased competition and impulses to work harder. Additionally, it will open doors for other significant firms to enter the market and take an innovative approach.

Recent reports on Amazon’s cooperation with Ava Labs through AWS to quicken the adoption of blockchain technology across multiple businesses. To support the infrastructure and decentralized application (dApp) ecosystem of Avalanche, AWS plans to make one-click node installations available.

Amazon and NFTs

The CEO of Amazon, Andy Jassy, commented on NFTs and the project they are engaged in. He believes that NFTs will experience rapid growth in the future. Even if they are not now offering crypto payments as a retail firm, crypto has the potential to overtake that position in the future.
