On February 6, a dangerous earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred in Pazarcık, the district of Kahramanmaraş, Turkey at 04.17. The earthquake did not affect only the citizens in Kahramanmaraş, it also affected other people from different cities of Turkey, like Adana, Hatay, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, and so on. After the night earthquake, again an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 occurred in the country today.

According to the Turkish minister of Health, there are 1,651 death and 11,119 injured people at the moment. Also, it was announced that 3,471 buildings were demolished. Because of the current circumstance in the country, schools across the country were closed, and mourning was declared.

There are many people who were pulled from the rubble, lost their homes, and are still under the rubble. These people need help as soon as possible; people in the earthquake areas generally need sleeping bags, diapers, sanitary pads, and blankets. According to a tweet in Turkish by Justin Sun, Huobi and Tron are joining forces to create a 2 million Turkish lira fund to help earthquake victims and work with the Turkish crypto community to rebuild the earthquake region.

Popular crypto exchange platforms are with Turkey

The popular crypto exchange platform OKX announced that the platform donated 1 million Turkish Lira for the recovery of the earthquake areas and earthquake victims via its official Twitter account.

According to the tweet from the official account of Gate.io, the team of the exchange started to prepare aid packages for the earthquake victims, and the packages will be sent to the earthquake areas in coordination with the authorities.

Another crypto exchange platform, Bitget, stated that 1 million Turkish Lira will be given to Turkey for the earthquake regions and victims by the exchange. Also, it is indicated that Turkish people who can help the local logistic can reach Bitget’s Turkish Twitter account to increase the helping in the earthquake areas.

Like the other exchange platforms, BitMEX is also showing itself in helping Turkey. BitMEX will donate the proceeds of this week’s Trading Competition to the Turkish Red Crescent that is an organization meeting all the blood needs of Turkey from safe and continuous donators.
