About Bitcoin Beach

Bitcoin Beach is an initiative that began in 2019 when an anonymous Bitcoin donor took notice of the charitable work. This initiative is led by Roman Martinez and Jorge Valenzuela in El Zonte. The donor provided a substantial sum of Bitcoin to support their efforts. The condition was that the funds must remain in Bitcoin and not be converted to cash.

Afterwards, Bitcoin donation was incorporated into the existing programs, aiming to establish a self-sustaining Bitcoin economy. This turned El Zonte into Bitcoin Beach, a place where Bitcoin serves as a widely accepted medium of exchange. The initiative is fostering financial inclusion and economic empowerment for the community.

Bitcoin Beach offers weekly programs teaching kids about money, dreams, and setting up Bitcoin wallets. Bitcoin Beach’s curriculum also involves making transactions and introducing kids to satoshi which is the smallest Bitcoin unit.

In an interview, Roman Martinez expressed belief in Bitcoin, finance, and economy education at an early age. Martínez holds the view that Bitcoin signifies the most recent advancement in currency. He proposes that educating children about Bitcoin, alongside essential life skills, will empower them to explore enhanced career possibilities. He explained that if children possess a strong grasp of English, computer skills, Bitcoin and marketing, they can secure remote employment with international employers. 

Teaching the younger generation about cryptocurrencies can equip them with essential financial knowledge and valuable skills for the future. In the Web3 space, numerous brands are harnessing the potential of crypto-powered games. Roblox, an online game platform where children can spend time learning, is an excellent example for it.
