Nearly 100 billion transactions later, Solana Labs has launched a ChatGPT plugin. This integration will allow users to interface with the platform directly via ChatGPT. People will be able to check their wallet balances and carry out transactions by using ChatGPT.

Why ChatGPT?

Open AI’s chat-based artificial intelligence solution has been making waves on the internet. By showcasing relevant use cases, it is potentially disrupting several industries. The blockchain world is not left out. From optimization to marketing strategies, the AI solution has a lot to develop the metaverse and the crypot/NFT space. No wonder several platforms, like Tron, are looking to integrate it in their systems.

Solana x ChatGPT

Solana’s plugin lets users monitor wallet balances, buy NFTs, and transfer tokens. 

By using ChatGPT, you can obtain a list of NFTs owned by an individual Solana address alongside metadata connection to each NFT.

To fulfill user requests, the plugin will interact with third party websites and retrieve data from online sources. However, it is uncertain when the plugin will be launched.

For now, Solana is calling on developers to test out this feature

Grant for AI Tools

To encourage participation, a million dollar grant is currently being awarded by Solana Foundation to enable developers to study how AI and the Solana blockchain interact.

Anatoly Yakovenko, the co-founder of Solana, encouraged Solana developers to create a ChatGPT plugin this weekend and asked them to contact @knimkar when they had one ready and had joined the waitlist. 

To be eligible for the grant, your tool or app must be accessible to the public for all to use. It should also be open-source upon launch with a source code available to Solana Foundation.
