The Shiba Inu project has launched a new Shibarium portal allowing stakeholders to be validators. The goal is to encourage more involvement and development in their layer 2 ecosystem.

The long-awaited Shibarium portal has just gone live. The Shiba Inu team is calling on developers and other stakeholders to get in touch, fill out the intake form and join the ecosystem.

About Shiba Inu

Created in August 2020 by Ryoshi (an anonymous person or group), Shiba Inu (SHIBUSD) is an altcoin that features Shiba Inu which is a Japanese hunting dog as its symbol.

The Ethereum-based meme coin is similar to Dogecoin and often regarded as an alternative. As a meme coin, it was previously launched as an inside joke rather than an asset with use cases or some utility.

What is Shibarium?

Developed by the makers of Shibu Inu, Shibarium is a Layer 2 blockchain that aims to provide more structure to and grow the Shiba Ecosystem. This (L2) is built on the Ethereum blockchain, Shiba tokens (SHIB, LEASH & BONE) use.

It will provide the benefits of lower fees, scalability, faster transaction times, and an expanded development framework. With this, the Shiba ecosystem (and all the coins in the network) will increase its utility value and attract innovations, security, and other solutions to the DeFi world.

Why Shibarium?

Shibarium is part of Shiba Inu’s plans to expand its network. That’s why it created its layer 2 solution and has currently created a portal for allowing developers and other stakeholders to become validators and work together to make this dream a reality.

In the portal, creators, businesses, and developers will be able to contribute to Shiba Inu’s ecosystem in all sorts of unique and exciting ways.

Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama encouraged interested stakeholders to fill out the intake form as it will help in building the ecosystem.

After this, the team will release documentation, update the wiki, and release the beta version.
